Welcome
Like alot of people who grew up going to church every Sunday I was told very specific things about how God was, about the Bible and how I was supposed to act. As the years went on I started to grow further and further from the church atmosphere. I had originally thought that this was a bad thing and that I should go back (I eventually did, but not because I thought I should, but because I wanted to). But, as it turns out, it gave me time to reflect on what I believed and do some research into what I was taught as a child.

Now, I believe that each person must figure out what they believe for themselves and not have anyone force their beliefs on another, so please know that this is not my intention. My intention is simple, have a place where people who want to learn what the Bible and God, have a place to do so.

I know what you're thinking (you have no idea what I'm thinking, ok just joking), isn't that what church is for. Well, yes and no. Because of the number of people that go to any given church it is hard to make sure that all your questions will be answered by one pastor/priest (there could be more pastors at your church, however that would normally be a bigger church). So you end up going home and reading the Bible by yourself, but not fully getting what is in front of you, not really understanding it even though you think you are.

Why do I think this? What if you wrote a book today and mentioned things like 9/11, an oil spill in the ocean or anything else that is topical to today, how quickly would someone from the year 2500, 3000 or 4000 be able to put what you have written into context for their day. I bet they'd need to do some research before they understood the relavence of what they were reading (It wouldn't take them long though as their computers would be at least twice as fast as ours are today).

This is the same for the Bible. This site is dedicated to having historical scholars, pastors and priests from all over the world adding commentary to each verse to give you an understanding of how that verse relates to today and why it was significant back then.

Please enjoy, and let me know what other types of things you'd like to see on the site.

BTW. Have a great day and try to do one kind thing for someone you don't know today.
